Infrared Sauna

Infrared sauna helps the body to clear toxins, increases oxygenation and enhances the immune system.

Introduction

Infrared sauna assists processes in the body to help eliminate chemicals, heavy metals and many other toxins. It also increases oxygenation in the body and enhances the immune system. Infrared sauna can also reduce the burden of radiation in the body.

A traditional sauna uses a hot stove and/or steam to heat the air, which in turn raises the air temperature. The air then heats your body and you begin to sweat.

An infrared sauna works slightly differently. It also heats your body, but it does this by emitting a specific wavelength of infrared light. The infrared light is absorbed by the skin, which causes the body’s temperate to rise internally.

In other words, an infrared sauna essentially heats the body from within. As a result, it can actually help to remove deeper rooted toxins without having to endure the often uncomfortably high air temperatures of a traditional sauna.

Infrared sauna is a therapy that is highly beneficial for cancer patients and has a wide range of specific benefits that support healing and cancer recovery:

Firstly, cancer cells are weaker than healthy cells and are more susceptible to the damage that heat can cause. Heating the body (also known as hyperthermia) is a well-known method of killing cancer cells.

Secondly, toxins often activate the sympathetic nervous system. Excessive activity of this system has been shown to be a contributing factor in many cancer cases. Therefore, therapies such as infrared sauna, which assist in removing toxins from the body, help to inhibit the sympathetic nervous system and are very helpful for cancer recovery.

Furthermore, saunas enhance circulation, which helps to deliver essential nutrients, hormones, oxygen and other substances around the body. Since cancer often occurs in tissues with poor circulation and poor oxygenation it makes sense that improving circulation and oxygenation helps to support the healing process.

Increased circulation also causes the blood to move toward the surface of the body which helps to decongest internal organs such as the liver and kidneys. Removing toxins from internal organs and restoring optimal function is incredibly important when it comes to overcoming any chronic condition, including cancer.

Sweating itself helps to cleanse the skin from the inside out. The skin is a major organ for elimination of toxins. Therefore, cleansing the skin through regular sweating helps to support healing and overall health.

Another key benefit of saunas is that they are an effective way to help remove toxic heavy metals such as lead, copper, mercury, arsenic, and cyanide, all of which can severely disrupt the healthy functioning of the body and lead to illness. High levels of heavy metals can contribute to the development of cancer, compromise the immune system and reduce our ability to heal. Therefore, removing the burden of heavy metals from the body is important for cancer patients.

We know that cancer cells thrive in an acidic environment. Infrared sauna can help to balance and regulate the body’s pH and correct excessively acid or alkaline body chemistries.

What’s more, infrared light resonates at the frequency of water and increases the activity of water molecules in the cells. It reduces the specific gravity of water which allows it to penetrate cells better.

In short, infrared sauna has wide ranging benefits and is a very important part of our holistic healing programs.
